Comtek Advanced Structures, a Latecoere Company, has been awarded the design-build contract for composite floors on the De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G™. The scope includes the complete flooring system for cabin and cockpit areas.

De Havilland Canada’s DHC-6 Twin Otter is an iconic twin turboprop, 19-seat utility airplane. The program has been a success for more than 50 years thanks to the airplane’s reliability and its versatility in cabin and landing gear configurations. This latest variant, the Classic 300-G™, launched in 2023, is the result of extensive consultation with customers to fine-tune the iconic aircraft for today’s passenger and special mission requirements.

Comtek’s history with De Havilland Canada aircraft goes back decades both in flooring systems and structural repair services. Comtek has been the floor system supplier for De Havilland Canada’s Dash 8-400 turboprop since the program was launched back in 1995 by Bombardier as the Q400 and has supplied aftermarket upgrade floors for previous Dash 8 models since the mid-1990s. Comtek’s Dash 8 repairs experience goes back to 1994 when the company was founded with an early focus on repairing Dash 8 parts. Comtek has since developed hundreds of unique repair capabilities for complex damaged parts, including leading edges, engine structures and flight control surfaces. Today, Comtek remains a premier repairs facility for the Dash 8 program, serving operators and MROs world-wide.
