On the May 29th, the GIFAS Meetings were focused on new technologies for the competitiveness and growth of the aeronautical industry. This is the leitmotif of the moment. Beyond the procedures specific to each company, they emphasize firstly the necessary close collaboration between customers and suppliers.

Among the renowned guests, Jean-Dominique Sénard, Michelin’s CEO made the trip to present his factory of the future. Olivier Cauquil, General Procurement Airbus Head of Group, also embraces this “factory of the future” topic within the industry.

Like these models, some initiatives are beginning to emerge in the aeronautics sector and the Latecoere’s 4.0 factory inaugurated on May 22 in Toulouse-Montredon is part of this desire to remain competitive in a highly competitive market. Yannick Assouad, CEO, talks about a “necessary global transformation of the company”.

Alongside Latecoere, other speakers have given some details about their works. Pierre-Eric Pommelet, Operations & Performance Director at Thales described the “digital revolution” in the company. Cédric Gautier, CEO STELIA Aerospace, and Olivier Horaist, Industrial & Procurement Director Safran, presented the productivity gains brought by robotization. Sigfox, represented by Raoul Mallart, its Chief Technical Officer, and Dassault Aviation, by the voice of its Director of Support Engineering, Thierry Rayet, insisted on the modalities and quality of the data exchange.
