Mexico wants to transition from an industrial society to an information society, in which technological advances are essential to preparing for the future. The CITEK Forum in Guanajuato is helping facilitate this societal change.

The CITEK Forum, supported by former President of Mexico Vicente Fox, brings together energies and talents operating in Central America in order to create opportunities for synergy. Essentially, it is a giant platform where ideas are shared and connections are made with regard to innovation and, more generally, knowledge and culture.

On 7 October, Bruno Ferrand, President and CEO of Latecoere’s US subsidiary, took the stage to explain how in 2014 his group acquired a single industrial platform serving both its aerostructure and interconnection system activities. In particular, he discussed how this pooling of resources, facilitated by a fertile local ecosystem, changed their relation with Boeing. As the manufacturer of passenger doors for the B787, Latecoere is now the only French company involved in the aircraft structure. That’s right: the only one.
