The Latecoere Group officially opened the Latelec production site in Had Soualem in Morocco, on Wednesday July 20, 2016. The new site, located some thirty kilometres from Casablanca, specialises in the manufacture of Airbus 320/350 avionics racks and A320 cockpit panels.
The Moroccan Minister of Industry and the French Ambassador spoke at the opening ceremony and took the opportunity to visit the site, thus testifying to the importance of the event. In his speech, Olivier Regnard, the Group’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, thanked the Moroccan authorities and the Moroccan Aerospace Industries Association (GIMAS) for their “steadfast support, enabling us to find our bearings right away and get off the ground quickly, while guaranteeing the very high quality standards that are so essential in our business.”
Denis Bretagnolle, CEO of the Group’s Interconnection Systems branch, stressed the fact that the new production unit was a genuine opportunity. “It is a model site where we can implement a zero defects policy and meet delivery deadlines, while ensuring the highest level of productivity.”
Airbus Electrical Procurements Manager, Gilles Morelot, also addressed those present at the opening: “For Airbus, Latelec is a trusted and strategic partner, with end-to-end mastery of all avionics wiring processes, from design to manufacturing and customer service. Latsima is a new element in a well-defined industrial set-up that perfectly meets our requirements in terms of performance.”
